Dr. Hummell is the senior founding member of the neurosurgical group with over fifteen years of experience in the surgical and non surgical management of diseases of the brain and spine. He completed his neurosurgical residency in San Antonio and has been practicing in Austin since 1992. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and trained in instrumentation of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. His practice scope includes tumors of the brain and spine, degenerative spine disease and cerebrovascular disease. He was instrumental in the development of the neurosurgical trauma program and helped found the Austin Brain and Spine Center. He is the most experienced Austin neurosurgeon currently performing both intracranial and spinal surgery.
